Keeping up the pressure on your tyres... Most tyre damage is caused by incorrect tyre pressure! Check your tyre pressure regularly every two weeks in normal use. Remember to check the spare wheel too. The tyre pressure prescribed by the manufacturer is given in the car manual and also in the tank lid, for example, or on the door post. Incorrect tyre pressure increases wear and has a negative effect on driving characteristics. When checking and adjusting tyre pressure, the following should be borne in mind: - Check the pressure when the tyre is cold
- Do not adjust the tyre pressure on a warm tyre (it is normal for the tyre pressure to rise when the vehicle is moving).
- The tyre pressure must be the same on the wheels of each axle, but may be different on the front and rear axle.
- Valve caps must be tightly closed as they protect the valve from dust and dirt and thus prevent it from leaking.
- Replace missing valve caps without delay.
