Timisoara/Sibiu/Iasi,  October 7, 2009. The 5th edition of the conference for the new Continental employees in Central and Eastern Europe will be carried out in Timisoara, from October 5 - 7. The conference has been organized in Romania since 2005 and brings together employees of the organization, higher education graduates who have been working for the company for less than six months, to facilitate their integration within the organization. On this occasion, the Continental management will provide the employees with information about each field of activity of the corporation. The event also aims to encourage interaction between the new employees working in various locations at international level, in order to enable a good collaboration in the future. At this edition, 62 employees from Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic will be participating.

"To ensure the success of our corporation, we need a high performing team. This conference brings together experts within the company and young employees, facilitating interaction between them. Yet again, I was pleased to meet young people who are enthusiastic and passionate about the automotive industry, but also about other important industries Continental is working with. I welcome all of them to the corporation," declared Heinz-Gerhard Wente, member of the Executive Board of Continental AG and responsible for Human Resources, who traveled to Timisoara especially for this event. The Corporate Entry Conference was first launched in the year 2000 in Germany.

At organizational level, in 2008 were organized 12 conferences throughout the world. The nominees for the Corporate Entry Conference are employees who are graduates of higher education with development potential. The 5th edition held in Timisoara brings together 62 participants from four Eastern-European countries: Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, where Continental holds production facilities or R&D centers of all divisions of the corporation. The four previous “Continental Corporate Entry Conferences” in Central and Eastern Europe were organized alternatively in the cities of Sibiu and Timisoara.

"Continental aims to be an ‘employer of choice for both experts and young graduates. We therefore take part in many recruitment events and collaborate intensely with universities in each country where our organization carries out activities. Attracting well-qualified personnel is an important part of the recruitment process, but retaining such personnel is also essential. In addition to the financial factors and benefits, it is also important to ensure a motivating working environment and opportunities for professional development within the organization. Well informed employees are more motivated and passionate about their work. Knowing personally the colleagues at international level makes the interaction more efficient. For this reason the Corporate Entry Conference is a program appreciated by the employees and therefore we also extended it to Central and Eastern Europe," underlined Sehnaz Oezden, head of Corporate Employer Branding & Recruiting.

I believe this meeting is primarily a lesson of integration and interculturalism that will prove extremely useful to each employee. During our activity within the company, we interact with various colleagues from different countries and cultures. This meeting provides the opportunity to communicate better with the others. The fact that part of the management team for a region appear before you and share their experience is extraordinary and provides useful baggage for your professional life," added Mr. Christian von Albrichsfeld, head of Continental R&D in Romania and General Manager of Continental Automotive Timisoara.

The management team present in Timisoara consists of the following: Heinz-Gerhard Wente, member of the Executive Board of Continental AG, Hanover; Sehnaz Oezden, head of Corporate Employer Branding & Recruiting, Continental AG, Hanover; Christian von Albrichsfeld, head of Continental R&D and General Manager of Continental Automotive Timisoara; Rocco Ciarfaglia, head of the Passive Safety & ADAS department; Aurora Sere-Schneider, head of the Transmission Romania department; Thierry Wipff, General Manager of Continental Tires Timisoara; Sorin Iarca, head of the Body & Security department; Oswald Kolb, General Manager of Continental Automotive Sibiu; Bernd Steinebronn, General Manager of ContiTech Timisoara; Anica Stoica, Human Resources Manager / HR Timisoara and Iasi; Ladislav Rosina, General Manager of Continental Matador Truck Tires.
