The tire sector of the Continental Corporation comprises 16 tire plants, 4 wheel assembly sites, 2 textile producing sites, 2 mixing facilities, 1 re-treading plant and 2 testing grounds. One tire plant is currently under construction.

14 of the 16 tire plants are certified according to the international standard ISO 14001. Moreover, 4 of the 9 European tire plants are validated according to the European standard EMAS.

Additionally, 2 of the 4 wheel assembly sites and 1 of the 2 textile producing sites have implemented a certified environmental management system according to the ISO 14001 standard.

4 tire plants,1 wheel assembly site, and 1 textile producing facility are also certified according to OHSAS 18001, an internationally accepted standard for occupational health and safety.
