The tire sector of the Continental Corporation comprises 17 tire plants, 3 wheel assembly sites, 2 textile producing sites, 1 mixing facility, 1 spike producing facility and 2 testing grounds. The tire plant in Hefei in China started the production in May 2011. The tire plant is Nagoda / Kalutara is producing industrial tires (solid tires).

14 of the 17 tire plants are certified according to the international standard for environmental management systems, ISO 14001.

Additionally, 1 of the 2 textile producing sites has implemented a certified environmental management system according to the ISO 14001 standard.

6 tire plants are also certified according to OHSAS 18001, an internationally accepted standard for occupational health and safety.

A group certification has been introduced in 2006. Since then the tire divisions PLT and CVT with all centrally acting functions are also certified according to ISO 14001.
