Development of key environmental performance indicators 1999 - 2010.
In comparison to 1999, we at the tire divisions reduced the consumption of:

- fuel, respectively steam by 38 %
- electricity by 19 %
- water by 34 %
- solvent by 77 %

Indirect CO₂ emissions which result from purchased electricity and purchased steam were reduced by 24 % when compared to 1999. Direct CO2-emission from own steam generation decreased by 48 % as compared to 1999.

The arisings of waste was reduced by 26 % and at the same time the recycling rate increased from 66 % to 88 % in 2010.

The key performance indicators are connected to clearly defined goals in order to reduce energy and water consumption, use of solvent, CO2 emissions and waste production and increase the percentage of recyclable waste in the total amount of waste.

We believe it is important to gradually reduce the environmental impact of our production facilities, and we have already achieved a great deal in this regard.
