When did you first have anything to do with Continental?
During the practical phase of my study, I worked as an intern in the personnel department at the works environment in Limbach-Oberfrohna/Stollberg.

Why did you choose an overseas internship at Continental?
I didn't have to think about it very long. The ability to gather international experience with Continental in a rapidly growing country like China gave me a unique opportunity that I took immediately.

How does one apply for an internship like yours?
My first contact with China was via the ProMotion team and the personnel department in Hanover. The colleagues then forwarded my online application directly to the employees in Shanghai.

How does one apply for a position like yours?
Applying is simple. Everyone can look for a suitable position on the Continental career page. You just log in and send off the application straightaway online. Personally, the prompt response surprised me: I received an invitation for an interview just two days later – and shortly after that I was accepted.

How would you describe the working atmosphere?
At Continental both in China and in Germany, team spirit and openness are considered extremely important. Especially the open-door policy creates a friendly and pleasant working environment with a variety of tasks requiring responsibility.

What career opportunities do you see for yourself in the company?
Basically, Continental offers a truly wide range of career opportunities for college graduates. Whether in a trainee program or with direct entry, Continental supports its employees. Anyone who's involved and conscientious is assigned responsibility early on and has a variety of development opportunities.

You have been nominated for the student retention program ProMotion. What benefits does the program offer you?
Since I am neither a student trainee nor a ContiBachelor, ProMotion offers me a constant connection to the company. What's especially important for me is the contact to the human resources department, which is really supporting me with respect to job prospects after graduation. Not to mention the numerous training courses, workshops and events where I can further my development and expand my network. But the biggest advantage in my opinion is the opportunity to do my internship in China.
