In the run-up to the “Formula Student Hockenheimring Event” in August 2009, we organized a first warm-up event on the 26^th and 27^th May 2009 at the location of Korbach. Eight of our sponsored teams attended exciting lectures like “Beet drive instead of chain drive”.
A barbeque with all teams gave the possibility to get to know each other and talk about engineering topics with other students of the Formula Student Teams and experts of the Continental AG.
Furthermore the teams had the possibility to attend an exiting tour through the tire plant in Korbach. Here the teams obtained an insight, how they still produce bicycle tires by hand.
The highlight of the event was of course the delivery of the fresh baked tires to the Formula Student Teams. There have been developed by the graduate Ann-Christin Bartölke and her supervisors in Hanover-Stöcken and are produced with the support of the whole plant in Korbach.
