Daniela Saal at Continental

Daniela Saal

"The company has developed – and so too has its workforce."

What is your academic background?
I studied mechanical engineering and wrote my degree dissertation at Continental. I then applied to an open position and I've been here ever since.

What is a typical working day like for you?
A typical working day for me is a mixture of process technology, such as plant supervision, process development – mainly for transmission control – and project work, which includes the planning of production lines, workflow descriptions and documentation.

How would you describe the working atmosphere and corporate culture?
We're a great team. We all get on really well with each other, as well as with members of other departments.
Numerous acquisitions over the years have seen Continental grow to become one of the world's leading suppliers in the automotive industry. Of course, this also has an impact on the culture. In other words, the company has developed – and so too has its workforce.

What further training measures does Continental offer you?
The company offers a range of training courses for the processes and projects that are currently ongoing. Numerous contacts at universities and plant suppliers mean that we can also benefit from the further training measures that they offer.

What qualities and qualifications should future Continental employees have?
Future employees should be open-minded, able to work under pressure and have stamina.  They should of course also display a certain interest in technology and take enjoyment in their work.
