Commitment to Sports

Why is Continental committed to sports in general and soccer in particular? In sports, just like vehicle safety, everything is “a question of technique.” Whether in marketing, sponsoring, in communication or social initiatives in sports, Continental AG is placing emphasis on a long-term commitment to sports and soccer. From the UEFA Champions League 1995 – 2000, FIFA Confederations Cup 2005, and 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™ to the UEFA EURO 2008™ in Austria and Switzerland, the Corporation follows a long-term marketing strategy for the Tire Division as an official sponsor of major events.

In addition, the Corporation has been committed to long-term sports projects and programs for its employees and the public for many years. ContiFanWorld, a multi-language online game platform for soccer fans, the ContiTrainingsCamp and the ContiTeamCup, the in-house soccer “world cup” initiated in the run-up to the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™, are included especially.
