Employees Collect for Those Afflicted
with Cystic Fibrosis

Colleagues with a heart: In December 2007, at their first joint Christmas party in Regensburg, employees at the Continental plants in Ingolstadt and Regensburg spontaneously collected around €1,400 for victims of cystic fibrosis. The generosity proved a particular joy to one colleague in particular. Her son is afflicted with the illness.

Cystic fibrosis – also known as mucoviscidosis – is a congenital, not yet curable metabolic indisposition. The most frequent symptoms are chronic coughing, serious bouts of pneumonia, digestive problems and underweight. To help afflicted children, teens and young adults, six colleagues spontaneously had the idea at the Christmas party to ask their colleagues for support. As a thank-you for their donation, they received the “Corporate Guardian Angel”, a citation conferred by the Muscoviscidosis Association.
