In the slum of Satima Village on the outskirts of Manila, the capital of the Philippines, live approximately 650 families in very little spaces in conditions beneath human dignity. A private initiative of employees of the Continental factory in Manila, their relatives and friends helps to improve the living conditions of people in this neighborhood.

This long-term project is primarily about providing the families rain- and stormproof stone houses, making it possible for the children to go to school, providing medical assistance, and improving everyday living conditions with donations of goods – in particular food and clothing.

Donations for the project are being collected on a corporate-wide basis by the association “From Heart to Heart”, for example at company parties. Since the project began in 2003, safe accommodations have been made available for 39 families, and 61 children have been able to go to school regularly – from primary school through to college level.
