"Prime Time" is a weekly tutoring program at the Barrington Middle School in Deer Park, Illinois, in the U.S. At the end of the normal school day, mentors come in to offer pupils in grades 6 to 8 help in improving their scholastic performance. Thanks to this extra support, the pupils are again able to shine in class and build up their own self-confidence. Since October 2006, up to twenty employees at the Continental offices in Deer Park have been going to the school every Thursday after work to assist the middle school pupils with their homework and to guide them in preparing for upcoming tests. Gunner, a seventh grader and participant in the prime time program, gladly takes advantage of the assistance offered by the Continental mentors because, as he says, they are always very patient and work with us on a topic until we have really understood it. "The Prime Time program is an excellent scholastic boost for our pupils. This is thanks largely to the service and commitment of our volunteers. I am very grateful for their public-spirited help at the school. On behalf of our pupils and their parents, I thank each and every one of them for what they have contributed to the program,” said Dr. Craig Winkelman, principal of Barrington Middle School.
