Africa in the spring of 2011. Continental Tyre South Africa (CTSA) wins the Golden Arrow Award! For the Golden Arrow Awards, the African financial magazine PMR evaluates companies and establishments in South Africa that are generally perceived to contribute to stability, growth and economic development in South Africa. CTSA has now been presented this award in response to its commitment in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

A random survey was taken of South Africans to find out their opinions on the topic of corporate social responsibility. Those surveyed specified and evaluated companies and establishments from various industrial branches based upon the following attributes: Fostering of the economic equality of the black population, social commitment in the surroundings of the plants, commitment to the employees, corporate governance, equal employment opportunities, environmental protection, combating of crime, HIV/Aids prevention and control, combating of poverty, job creation and training, quality of service and improvements in social conditions. With 4 out of 5 points, CTSA received the highest number of points of all tire manufacturers specified in the survey, thus landing the Golden Arrow Award.
