Almost 400 books donated for disadvantaged children

Employees at the Timişoara location in Romania have donated 221 second-hand books to the Timişoara branch of the Rudolf Walther Foundation "Kinderzukunft" (children's future). They also raised money, which Continental Automotive Romania used to buy 158 new books. Both sets of books were then donated to the foundation for its library, which was set up by Continental in 2009. The Timişoara branch cares for 150 disadvantaged children and young people.

The Rudolf Walther foundation has been helping children in need since 1988. Among the package of books delivered by representatives of the plant in mid-February (see photo) were picture books, adventure stories, young people's books and also children's encyclopedias. "We all enjoyed the books that helped us reach adulthood," said foundation director Cristian Popescu, who praised Continental as a trusted partner.

"We want these children to have a better future, and this cannot be done without a good guide – in this case the books."
