Almost 400 books donated for disadvantaged children

Employees at the Timişoara location in Romania have donated 221 second-hand books to the Timişoara branch of the Rudolf Walther Foundation "Kinderzukunft" (children's future). They also raised money, which Continental Automotive Romania used to buy 158 new books.

Continental Forms 31 Educational Partnerships

Hanover, March 28, 2011. International automotive supplier Continental formed 31 educational partnerships with local elementary schools. At nine events in Germany and Romania, eleven sites officially confirmed their commitment to promoting young talent and education in the subjects of mathematics, information technology, natural sciences and technology [MINT].

Plant Budapest and its employees help victims of major disaster in Western Hungary

Continental reaches out to flood victims in Pakistan

September 2010. The situation in Pakistan is dramatic: The country is suffering its worst natural catastrophe in eight decades. Continental has donated $100,000 for the victims of the catastrophic flooding in Pakistan and is working closely with the German relief organization Welthungerhilfe (World Hunger Aid).

How Pupils Get Fired Up about Technology

Pupils can become familiar with the engineering profession in training sessions, workshops and with a practical look at day-to-day work. The Duck Race – Continental Gets Involved in the Social Life of the Community in Timişoara

The third edition of the Timişoara duck race was run in June 2010. The goal of this year's event was to raise money for charity projects. The Continental plant in Timişoara is one of the main sponsors again this year.

Dibanisa Project in Gansbaai, South Africa

Hanover, July 2010. Continental AG is an official sponsor of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa and is supporting a 3-year Dibanisa project with a total of €10,000. “Dibanisa” means “add-together”, and that is precisely what the Dibanisa e.V. society in Hanover wants to do with this project.

The Continental Tire Plant in Timiişoara Pushing for More Green

In collaboration with the local Village Museum, the Continental tire plant in Timişoara, Romania, initiated the “More Green for the Museum” project at the end of April 2010. The point of the initiative is a rejuvenation of the wooded area and an expansion of the green zone on the museum premises.

World First from ContiTech: Climate-Neutral Printing Blankets

Northeim, March 2010. As the first manufacturer anywhere in the world, ContiTech Elastomer Coatings has introduced a climate-neutral process for making its printing blankets. A production process of a new type eliminates up to 70 percent of the climate-damaging CO2 emissions released in the production of world standard printing blankets.

Continental Supports Integration Projects in Football Clubs

Continental has demonstrated its commitment to the integration projects of two football clubs in Hanover by donating €7,500, with €3,750 going to the each of the clubs SV Borussia Hannover club and SV 07 Linden. On January 19, 2010, Continental presented the youth divisions of the two clubs with symbolic checks at the NP sports gala.
