Hybrid and Electric Vehicles Gaining Recognition Worldwide

Hanover/Vienna, June 27, 2008. Electric cars and vehicles with hybrid drive enjoy remark­able interest among motorists worldwide. A total of 36.0 percent of those surveyed were willing to buy a car with hybrid drive; more remarkably, 45.8 percent were interested in pur­chasing an electric car.

Continental donates EUR 225,000 - to support the earthquake-hit Sichuan area of China

Hanover, May 2008 - Children are the most vulnerable traffic participants, they are unable to properly assess the dangers and often go unseen in blind areas. According to the German Statutory Accident Insurance, last year some 120,000 accidents involving children on the way to school were reported, 59 of which were fatal. All the more reason for parents to plan and practice the school route together with their children.

Mexico, in November 2007. The Continental corporation and its employees in North America have donated close to $100,000.00 for those affected by the catastrophic flooding in the Mexican states of Tabasco and Chiapas, which resulted in an estimated $700 million worth of damage.

Continental supports the Rainbow Tour of the German Children's Cancer Association

By raising funds at the "Eurobike“ and "FMA" bicycle fairs in the fall of 2007, the Continental bicycle tire unit together with the German Biking Club supported the Rainbow Tour, initiated by the German Children's Cancer Association.

Continental Signs the European Road Safety Charter
