The workforce at Continental's Mexican location pays particular attention to making environmentally sensible use of water, energy and material in production and to avoiding greenhouse gases. This commitment was honored twice in November 2011. One of these awards was the "GEI Mexico Program Award", the other the "CNIMME Award".

It already marked the eight time around for the "GEI Mexico Program Award". It singles out Mexican companies that strive to curb the release of greenhouse gases and adhere to the precepts of the "Greenhouse Gases Program". Various environmental institutions – the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) for one – are behind the program.

The "CNIMME Award" is conferred annually by a board that evaluates economic growth as well as the eco-friendly and social consciousness reflected in the dealings of Mexico's industrial companies.
