The dedication to helping deprived children plays a major role for employees at the ContiTech site in Carei, Rumania.

They therefore support  local foster home for children from socially disadvantaged families. The home takes care of 19 girls and boys, who are given the chance of a happy and fulfilled daily routine. Help with homework and leisure activities is particularly important for the children.

ContiTech therefore covers the costs for an educational social worker to work with the children each day. The plant also pays the rent for the home, provides two computers and covers the costs for the Internet connection.

The employees also support a local Piarist sisters' Catholic daycare center, where around 30 children are supervised each day, given a warm meal and receive help with homework. Sports activities and birthday celebrations are also held at the center every other Saturday.

As well as keeping in continuous contact with both the children and the sisters, ContiTech also pays for teachers to help the children with their homework.
