On-the-job training with a "Chamber of Industry & Commerce- certificate" is setting standards across Germany

The rubber and plastics technology program offered by the Chamber of Industry & Commerce enables companies to provide a form-fit qualification which focuses on practical requirements, and which is recognized across Germany. The pilot project at Continental AG in the Korbach plant was developed in close cooperation with the Chamber of Industry & Commerce in Kassel and DIHK-Bildungs-GmbH in Bonn. Interested companies can adapt the on-the-job training to their needs, in cooperation with their local Chamber of Industry & Commerce.

The intention of the qualification initiative was to enable select high-performers to complete a certified course of training. This certification supplements "learning on the job“ with a broad, practical qualification. In this way, it is possible for employees to enjoy a higher lifelong employability and a wider range of employment opportunities within the Company, beyond the plant.

The Chamber of Industry & Commerce training is designed as a “key to business excellence” according to the motto “support employees – develop commitment.” Only well-founded professional experience is required to qualify. No other qualification is needed. The first participants have already started their training at the plants in Korbach, Aachen and Hanover. They clearly show how the idea of lifelong learning can become reality.
