At the end of 2008, Continental provided work for approximately 140,000 employees in 35 countries – including over 46,000 in Germany. The number of employees decreased in 2008 by 12,499. On average, our employees in Germany are 43 years old, and about 77 percent are male. Employees by Country/Region in 2008:

About 93 percent of jobs form the core workforce. These jobs are permanent, and offer our employees stable professional prospects. Approximately seven percent are fixed-term posts. They give us the opportunity to be able to react flexibly to market requirements. 97 percent of staff at the Corporation work full time. On average, they have been working for the company for about 15 years – a testimony to the long-term focus of Continental's personnel policy. 76 percent of our employees in Germany are paid according to a collective labor agreement.
