Wet braking

A combination of many grip edges and elevated grooves lead to an increased wet contact area with the road and thus to shorter wet braking distances.

Snow braking

A high quantity of active grip edges lead to a superior force transmission, so that the tyre has excellent traction and a short braking distance on snow. 

Supports ESC systems

As the only automotive supplier Continental combines vehicle with tyre development. Under the effect of lateral forces, ESC (Electronic Stability Control) selectively controls a braking intervention of one wheel in order to stabilise the vehicle. The braking effect of the tyre and consequently the ESC is optimised by the alignment of the maximum possible number of sipe edges lateral to the driving direction.
