HANNOVER (January 3, 2005) - Continental AG, Hanover, is contributing $500,000 for the tsunami victims in Asia. The international automotive supplier is working together with aid organizations to determine whether a portion of this amount should be donated in material resources, the corporation announced Monday. One possibility would be to provide portable 300,000 liter fuel tanks made by ContiTech AG to use in the crisis region. Tires for off-road vehicles or trucks from the Continental production in Malaysia could also be contributed. In addition, the company is asking its employees throughout the world to also contribute to public fundraising campaigns for the victims. The Continental Corporation is a leading supplier of brake systems, chassis components, vehicle electronics, tires and technical elastomers. In 2003 the corporation realized sales of EUR11.5 billion.
