Hanover, November 2008. The group purchasing department of Deutsche Post World Net recently presented awards to its best suppliers. These awards are part of an intensive supplier management system and represent a milestone in the development of strategic partnerships at Deutsche Post World Net.

Deutsche Post has been intensively evaluating its suppliers since 2005. The background, in addition to optimizing costs, is above all increasing quality and flexibility within the delivery chain. The German post office has over 40,000 suppliers, nine of whom were selected and rewarded for their services. In the category for suppliers with the greatest service improvement, Continental Commercial Vehicles Fleet Business was chosen alongside American temporary staffing firm Staffmark.

The evaluation was carried out by internal business partners and experts from the group purchasing department. Continental was rewarded for improvements to fleet business service. Service provider Vergölst had reduced its service times from two hours to 15 minutes by means of internal re-organization.
