|
2008.09.04 Hanover, September 2008. The certificate from MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG puts it in a nutshell: The cooperative and innovative relationship with Continental AG is reflected in our longstanding partnership. Continental AG demonstrates enormous reliability in terms of meeting deadlines and maintaining quality. Furthermore, Continental has often been able to intervene at short notice where supply shortages have arisen, and thus played a major role in ensuring that we had tyres for all our vehicles in 2007. MAN grants the award to up to ten suppliers every year, evaluating reliability, efficiency, innovation, technical competence, quality, cost, and logistics. Vehicle development and tyre design are coordinated from the outset to ensure that new products can roll out dead on time. Peter Matzke heads the international original equipment unit in the Truck Tyres Division. He sees the award as rewarding the work of recent years: “We aim to meet the highest standards in everything we do, so of course that includes satisfied original equipment customers. That’s why my team and I are so pleased to have won this prize.” With targeted annual sales of more than €26.4 billion for 2008, the Continental Corporation is one of the top automotive suppliers worldwide.
